Working through local offices and an extensive network of partners, CRS operates on five continents and in 99 countries. We aid the poor by first providing direct assistance where needed, then encouraging people to help with their own development. Together, these approaches foster secure, productive, just communities that enable people to realize their potential.
As
the official international relief and development agency of the U.S. Catholic
community, CRS is also committed to educating the people of the United States
to fulfill their moral responsibilities toward our global brothers and sisters
by helping the poor, working to remove the causes of poverty, and promoting
social justice
COMPANY PROFILE:
Since 1943, CRS has worked across the world to provide
life-saving relief and support to the poorest and most marginalized
communities, regardless of their race, religion or nationality.
While the foundation of our work is grounded and inspired by our
Christian values, our mission is—at its heart and in its entirety—humanitarian,
serving those who are the most vulnerable among us.
CRS works with local partners and at the grass-roots level in
99 countries and territories worldwide.
Our work reaches far beyond emergency relief to address the long-term problems
that keep people mired in misery: chronic
poverty, unjust social systems, ethnic and political tension, natural
disasters, and gender and social marginalization.
From agriculture to education, from health to microfinance, from peace
building to home building, CRS is working with the world’s most economically
impoverished people to create a better life.
